I'm finally going to start running ads next week. This will be a learning process for me as I have never run ads on anything before. My goal is to support development without sacrificing user experience.
Ideally this will mean I can spend more time working on BBMVP and bringing you cool stuff!
It's very important to me that the site remains pleasantly usable for everyone. If you feel like ads are impeding your use of the site, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Previously when you clicked/tapped on an item, the item info would cover up a lot of the builder, making it hard to see things. This has been addressed and there are now 2 small icons instead.
In the builder, you can now submit private builds.
Private builds will not appear in any build lists. Eventually, you'll be able to see your own private builds in your account area. For now, please copy the URL immediately.
If you forget the URL you can PM me on Discord and I'll look it up for you.
There are two new buttons on build pages ((example build).
Open in Builder: opens the builder with a copy of that build for you to edit.
Copy Builder Link: copies a link to open the build in the builder.
Hopefully this encourages collaboration and helps you spur your creativity. Go share some builds!

Quick update following some minor but much needed changes!
I've made a number of cosmetic updates to the site, hopefully making it easier to navigate, including the much-requested fix for submitting builds on mobile: your screen will no longer zoom in when entering text. Sorry and you're welcome!
You'll notice there are now also hero pages, featuring information and builds for each hero. Click "builds" in the site header to get there.
If you notice your favorite hero's build list is looking a little sparse, you should add some builds of your own!
I've added all of the Season 1 items to the builder. I wanna see some cool Pepper builds. Seriously, has anyone made The Tenderizer actually working in Epic+ yet?
Speaking of builds: I'll soon be adding version information to builds. Outdated builds will be marked accordingly. There's nothing wrong with your build if it's outdated, just letting users know it's not from the current major version.

Now some business: It's been a long time since my last update. I've had a few unfortunate life circumstances that have made it hard to work on this site. I'm still here and continuing to update. I'd love to get my big To-Do items finished before the game enters Season 1. Here's the bucket list:
I removed the Ko-Fi banner from the site, as it was interfering with some UX. Sometime soon, I'll be putting ads up on the site to support development. I have some unobtrusive ideas for ad placement locations. I really don't want to overwhelm ya'll with ads - I want this to be a pleasant place even for people who don't want to spend money. If you have any ideas for good spots, I'd love to hear them.

Clicking on an author's name anywhere on the site now shows you all of their builds. You can copy/paste this link to share your builds.
You can now sort builds by popularity or by submission date on the main page.
Builds now appropriately accrue views.
Items have been added for the 0.38 update.
Item stars added; you can also lock item stars by tapping on the item and tapping the star icon in the corner.
Added some items at the end of the item list to help with creating new item ideas - Type icons and Stars.
"Scrolls" type added to the builder.
Search feature has been added. It's a bit buggy on mobile - fix incoming.
Minor QOL updates in the builder as well.

There is now a sharing button in the top right corner - tap it to submit, save, or COPY! Yes, no more needing to save every single build you make. Thanks Beweeted for the suggestion.

The builder now shows item stats. Click or tap on an item to view stats!
More stats and styling will come soon.
The builder also got some style changes - items are now color coded. You can change this in the Tools section.

The main page now shows a featured build. This will typically be the most popular build for the previous month.
In the coming weeks I'll be shoring up existing features to be more user-friendly.
I'll also be implementing user accounts. If you submitted a build, you'll be able to claim it, as promised.
Once that's complete, the site will enter a new phase. I haven't actually done any SEO for the site yet, so the userbase is limited to word-of-mouth (i.e. Discord). I'll be pushing for more users after accounts (and some relevant features) are implemented.

Hi and welcome! This blog will serve as a general center for information about BackpackBrawlMVP, its roadmap, showcases for works-in-progress, and things like that.
Some general plans for the future, in no particular order:
The site will at some point feature ads and/or premium accounts (when I feel like there are enough features to consider "premium"). No ads for now while we get our bearings. Unless this lil project somehow explodes and we exceed the basic tier for my web host. For now that doesn't seem like it'll be a problem ^_^ don't worry though; I promise to be tasteful and responsible with ads and hopefully implement it in such a way that will mirror the great devs behind this game we all love.
