Fern is a hero who rewards the long game - in combat and during the course of an entire run. She introduces the new persistent upgrade mechanic, allowing items to retain certain bonuses across multiple fights.
Her signature item, the Oakheart Tree, begins as a tiny acorn and grows throughout a gauntlet.
She excels at long fights, which is a must for her permanently scaling items. She has several uniques that help her sustain fights and/or benefit from long fight times.
